Especially important in the life of a woman were transitions related to birth, menstruation and death, and these events were marked with ceremony and ritual that created space for witnessing, honoring, reverence, celebration, and grief.

We as humanity are witnessing a great turning of the ages and experiencing the birth pangs of a new world in creation. 

Global events – and the way they are broadcast across mainstream media – can easily bring us into a state of fear and despair. 

And that is the one thing we cannot afford to fall into…

Fear will keep us stuck in our tracks, questioning our own power and the power of Source (the Great Mother). It will stop us from speaking our truth and shining our light and turn us into sheep blindly following orders from authorities.

One of the most potent and beautiful ways in which we can shift our vibration and move out of fear is through ritual and ceremony. 

Rituals and ceremonies are performed – alone or in a group – to mark specific events and life transitions, and their potency is amplified through the intentions of those performing and participating in the ritual.

For the ancient ones, rituals were a natural part of life, and were completed to mark life passages such as birth, menstruation, and death.

In the busyness, haste and materialism of modern life, many important practices have been forgotten or are simply considered unimportant.

It is high time that these rituals and sacred practices are brought back to life and used with conscious intent to celebrate – and grieve – significant transitions in a woman’s life, including birth, menstruation, and death.
